Richland SWCD To Hold Annual Celebration

MANSFIELD, OH - Enjoy an evening of live music, great food, and great company on Thursday, November 2, at the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (Richland SWCD) Annual Celebration. 

The Celebration is open to the public and will be held at the Richland County Longview Center at 1495 W. Longview Avenue in Mansfield.

A public election to select two board supervisors will be held. Each Board Supervisor serves a three-year term. If you wish to vote via absentee ballot, please contact Richland SWCD for instructions.

From 5:00 to 6:10 PM enjoy music and catching up with friends during Meet, Greet and Munch and the Board Supervisor Election. Live music will be provided by Steve Brown.

At 6:10 PM a buffet dinner catered by Der Dutchman and program will begin.

Guest speaker, Jim McCormac, author, naturalist, and photographer, has worked in the field of conservation for over 30 years. In his program, “Wild Ohio: The Best of Our Natural Heritage,” which is based on his 2009 book of the same name, he will take you on a pictorial adventure through Ohio’s rarest habitats.

The cost is $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for 16 and under.  Please call 419-747-8686 by October 26 to make a reservation.

    Debra Satz, the Maria Sutton Weeks Professor of Ethics in Society at Stanford University, will present “Distributing Schooling: The Place and Meaning of Equal Educational Opportunity" at the 12th Lindner Lecture in Ethics on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at The College of Wooster.
