BELLVILLE, OH-  The Clear Fork football team has started 2017 at 7-0 and are hoping to make it eight straight when they play host to 2-5 Ontario on Friday in Bellville.  Through seven games Clear Fork's defense has given up on average just 10.7 points per game heading into week eight.

"We're a little bigger up front than what we have been," says Clear Fork head coach Dave Carroll.  I think that's where it starts, experience has made all the difference too, those guys have been doing a great job.  Lineman, their job is to keep the big boys off our linebackers and they do a good job. They're all making plays especially our two d-ends."

Asked what the goal heading into a game is on defense, Colts defensive lineman Mike Chillemi says, "Shut'em out."  That's every week.  We're here to win and play our hardest to make sure they don't run the ball, pass the ball."  On average through seven weeks Clear Fork has given up just 10.7 points per game.

Offensively, Clear Fork has averaged over 33 points per game.  Blake Dinsmore who shares quarterback duties with Jared Schafer says running an offense like this is fun.  "It's great, I love it.  Me and Jared rotating gives us both breaks playing on defense too."

Though the Warriors are hobbled with injuries and are 2-5 coming in, they still have caught the attention of the Colts on defense.  "Their QB number 36 (Nick Arnold) is really good he is quick, he can play pretty much any position.  I watched their game on TV he's a good athlete."

Says Dinsmore who is also a defensive back, "They have a good wide receiver in Ethan Pensante.  So we have to take care of him.  They have a new quarterback and we have to take care of him running the ball."

"They are a very dangerous team," says Carroll.  Their defense they blitz like crazy you never know where they are coming from they are gonna bring a lot of people and they disrupt peoples offense."

On the 7-0 start, Chillemi says, "Our team has worked hard in the offseason and we were all here working together and it shows."

The Colts will try to make it show again on Friday night.  Should Clear Fork beat Ontario, two more tough teams await them and threaten a perfect regular season in 6-0 Marion Pleasant in week nine and 5-2 Marion Harding week ten.
